Beware: Franchise Business Contracts

Looking ahead to a summer job? Watch out for the franchisors that show up on campus. (e.g. College Pro Painters) Don’t sign any franchise agreement until you’ve met with your campus lawyers. You may decide not to sign when you realize the hundreds or thousands of dollars you’ll have to pay to buy out of the agreement when the “golden” opportunity interferes with school or isn’t as lucrative as promised. There’s always time to have SLS lawyers review the contract before you sign. If you’re pressured to skip that step, you should walk away!
